Each of these five types serves different purposes, offers unique advantages, and may have potential side effects.

Psychotropic medications are closely monitored to ensure progress, as well as, being able to catch and address side effects quickly. Compliance- taking medication as prescribed- is important with any medication. Medication Management allows prescribers to ensure compliance that helps patients to achieve their desired results. Studies show that proper medication management can reduce the risk of readmission to the hospital by 35%.

3. What if I get medication from multiple prescribers- for example, my family doctor and my psychiatrist?

4. Will I have to come into the office frequently?
