Dora is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. Dora has experience counseling individuals, adults, adolescents, couples, families, and groups with a variety of concerns. Dora has over 16 years of experience working with individuals and families in crisis and grief as a hospital chaplain.
Her approach to therapy is humanistic and person center oriented. She strives to provide a safe space to address concerns such as anxiety, depression, grief, loss, chronic illness, end of life issues, intimacy issues, overcoming shame, changes in family life, and adjustment issues.
Dora focuses on the individual to help people experience the present moment more fully, gain awareness of what they value and what they are doing to express their values, create meaning and connection, and aid in developing a plan of action.
Dora received a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Tarleton State University. Dora has also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Baylor University and a Master of Divinity degree from Texas Christian University with a concentration in Pastoral Care and Counseling.
Dora’s passion for counseling stems from understanding that life can present many challenges and having someone to listen and a place to explore the challenges can be an important step to finding healing and wholeness.
