Cristina Ciobanu

Cristina Ciobanu is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate with a Master of Science in Counseling & Development from Texas Woman’s University. She brings both clinical training and a deep commitment to integrative, evidence-based care.

Cristina primarily draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She applies these approaches through a trauma-informed lens, tailoring care to the unique needs of each client and focusing on both immediate relief and long-term healing. Her expertise includes working with younger and older adults navigating anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, trauma, chronic pain, grief, relationship problems, and major life transitions. Cristina also has experience leading partial hospitalization programs (PHP) and intensive outpatient programs (IOP), as well as supporting clients one-on-one through transitions and recovery.

Before her counseling career, Cristina worked in medical and research settings, where she developed a strong foundation in neuroscience, mind-body health, and the integration of psychological and biological perspectives. This background informs her ability to address the emotional, behavioral, and physical dimensions of healing.

Cristina believes therapy is a collaborative process rooted in safety, respect, and authentic connection. With her, therapy is not only about gaining insight but also about learning practical skills that bring relief in daily life. Sessions often blend education, skill-building, and deep exploration—creating space for clients to feel understood while also finding concrete steps forward.

Above all, Cristina strives to create a warm, non-judgmental environment where clients can explore their struggles honestly and begin to imagine new possibilities for themselves.
