About Serena Scotland
Serena Scotland is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Compassionate Psychiatric Services in Frisco, Texas. She brings 10 years of nursing experience across a variety of clinical settings, including psychiatry, rehabilitation nursing, pain management, medical-surgical units, preoperative care (pre-op), and post-anesthesia care (PACU). With over 25 years of experience in customer service and serving others, Serena is deeply committed to patient-centered care that prioritizes empathy, respect, and meaningful connection.
Her diverse clinical background enhances her ability to deliver holistic psychiatric care to children, adults, and geriatric patients across the lifespan. Serena evaluates, diagnoses, and treats a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including major depressive disorder (MDD), generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), bipolar disorder—covering manic, mixed, and depressive episodes—schizophrenia, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and insomnia. She is known for her strong clinical judgment, problem-solving skills, and her compassionate, relationship-driven approach to mental health care.
She earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from Georgia State University – Perimeter College, followed by her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) in Psychiatric Mental Health from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Outside of her clinical work, Serena enjoys spending weekends with her husband and three sons, caring for her French Bulldog, Phrisco, working out, and exploring new restaurants as a proud foodie. She’s also a passionate sports fan who loves watching the Dallas Mavericks and NFL football. Serena is deeply committed to helping her patients build emotional resilience and achieve lasting mental wellness through empathy, connection, and personalized care.
