Muta Wells is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). In addition, he is a retired ARMY Military Intelligence Officer (20+ years of active-duty service), and combat Veteran. Mr. Wells has worked in a variety of clinical settings including in-patient/out-patient treatment facilities, and nonprofit, and private sector organizations, administering individual, group, and couples counseling to adolescents, adults, and military Veterans.
Mr. Wells employs an integrated counseling approach based on person-centered, solution-focused, CBT, and DBT, with a special emphasis on areas of depression, trauma, anxiety, behavioral/social concerns, domestic violence, and justice-involved Veterans.
Outfitted with a premier knowledge base of mental health, and multicultural competency, Mr. Wells is enthusiastic about assisting others and presents with compassion, empathy, and sincere authenticity.
Mr. Wells earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland, and a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Assisting others has always been a deeply rooted passion of his, and as a practitioner, parent, and former service member, he has had the privilege of witnessing how patience, empathy, effective communication, and selfless service can significantly affect change in others for the better. Those aforementioned characteristics coupled with an eagerness to serve, and a desire to improve communities, is why he continues to work in and advocate for, the mental/behavioral health profession.
